The Cube Wadi Rum, 2019
The Cube Wadi Rum
2019, Wadi Rum
The transparant zone/space:
The cube-shaped installation frames both the desert landscape of Wadi Rum and the person inside it, giving him a new perspective within the context of a music rave.
The cube’s envelope is composed of white strips that enable transparency, creating a rather unusual experience. It allows the user to continue observing his surroundings whilst simultaneously secluding and leading him on a journey with his inner-self.
The performances will be performed in an open space and are simple, which means they can all take place in the same spot. The space will be cube shaped, made from strings that keep the observers on the outside. The first performance will have Rabia wandering, moving inside this cube non-stop for two hours. The second performance will have Rabia digging in the ground for two hours. The third performance will have Rabia sitting for an hour, motionless. The people will be able to watch Rabia in act from outside of the cube.
